Introducing
the
ADULT CATECHUMENATE
of
Peace Lutheran Church
MAKING DISCIPLES &
NURTURING THEM
INTO A CLOSER
COMMUNION
WITH
JESUS CHRIST.
Then Jesus came to them and
said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. 19
Therefore go and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name
of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, 20
and teaching them
to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am
with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mt.
28:19-20
THE ADULT CATECHUMENATE
IS:
A fellowship of individuals who are on a spiritual quest
to:
- know Jesus Christ and grow in His Grace more and more.
- become disciplined in one’s life towards Godliness.
- be baptized or become members of Peace Lutheran
THE ADULT CATECHUMENATE INVOLVES:
- Ongoing prayers and blessings for you by the congregation.
- Regular practice of worship either on Sunday mornings, or the Saturday afternoon Preaching and Teaching services, and personal devotions.
- Two special Sundays during the year when baptisms and professions of faith take place (just after Christmas & Easter).
THINGS TO NOTE:
- There is no obligation to become a member of the congregation once you have joined the Catechumenate.
- There is no definite “end” to the Catechumenate. One is baptized or becomes a member “when the time right”. Every individual situation will be different.
